Teenager Josh Elliott made a storming return to fitness at the IDM German Supersport finale at Hockenheim. Despite qualifying relatively far back at 13th on the grid, a last minute change to suspension in the warm up period allowed Josh to use his late braking and high entry speed to the maximum again. He battled his way to 6th place and at half distance was one of the fastest riders on track.
The Assen weekend proved tough for young rider Josh Elliott as he returned to Supersport racing following a hefty fall at the Salzburgring in July. Still suffering from lower back pain Josh persevered throughout the weekend to produce a brave ride for 19th and 21st positions. Josh's new team mate for this meeting, Glenn Irwin felt at home immediately on his first time out with the Honda CBR 600 and posted an impressive 5th fastest on race tyres in first qualifying.
Josh Elliott, acclaimed by the biking media as one of the most promising racing talents in the UK, will be competing in the 2010 World Superbike Championship's Superstock 600 series. Elliott, who has been racing since he was nine, astonished race followers after a series of stunning rides in the IDM Supersport championship last year. Josh scored points in the tough German series at only 14 years old and went on to became the youngest ever podium finisher in a national Supersport championship.
Riding again for the Racedays Honda team he is currently the only British rider entered into the WSBK Superstock classes.
